For some reason in the Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta I cannot see my folders in the left pane. I have no way of clicking on my inbox, sent messages etc. Is this a known bug, or can I do something so that I can do them. It's pretty useless if I can't navigate the folders.

Why can't I see my mail folders in WLMDB? (Inbox, Sent, etc.
Try this:
If that is the problem, open the registry to this key with the Mail Desktop Beta program closed:
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2592889828-4208865303-1639956936-1006\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta <note the GUID may differ, but is a big, long number>
Look in the right hand column for "Tree" and change its value from 0 to 1. Exit Registry Editor and reopen Mail Desktop Beta. You should now see your Folder List in the left hand pane. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile=F9F51EF1-4AE3-4D23-B2D8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.

Alright, my next question then is, How do you open the registry?

Sorry, but for a question that basic, I'd suggest you find someone who is more knowledgeable to help you. Fooling around in the registry is not for amateurs since you can make your complete system unbootable if you make a mistake. Try taking it to a computer shop, or maybe in your neighbourhood, you have a "whiz" on computers who can help you. Good luck. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express

Did you try tapping the 'Folder List' icon on the tool bar?
No. I don't have a 'Folder List' icon on the tool bar.

Thanks for you help. I figured out how to get into the registry. Using your above suggestion worked.
